Tell us your Stories. Find an Event, and Get Started at www.paybackproject.org. People in districts across the nation are showing up to tell these Republicans we will not forget their vote. Highlighting These Stories is Key to Changing Narratives in districts across the country ahead of the 2018 Mid-Term Elections. We are excited about Indivisible’s new partnership with MoveOn.org, Town Hall Project, and Women's March on Washington to hold accountable the 217 Republicans who voted to take away healthcare from 24 million people and cut Medicaid by $880 billion to fund a massive tax break for corporations and the wealthy.
The Payback Project
"On May 4th, 217 Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives voted for TrumpCare, a bill that would take away health care from 24 million Americans, gut protections for millions of Americans with preexisting conditions, defund Planned Parenthood, and cut $880 billion from Medicaid for children, the sick, and persons with disabilities. All this to fund a massive tax break for the wealthy and corporations.
This moral monstrosity of a bill is quite simply an assault on basic American values. In voting for this legislation, these 217 Republicans proved their total disregard for the health and well-being of their constituents.
May 4th will go down in history as the day Republicans set the stage for their own loss of the House in 2018. But before then, we have work to do. We must hold these representatives accountable. And there’s only one way to do that: constituent power asserted by an engaged citizenry intent on taking back our democracy.
The Payback Project, a joint effort of Indivisible, MoveOn, Town Hall Project, and Women's March will track groups and events targeting these 217 members of Congress and amplify the work of everyday Americans making them pay for their vote."
